enough

I was making my way around the neighborhood as a gentleman ran by. He lives around these parts, or so I’m told. Little did he know, he amongst others, was the soundtrack to my first book.

As I grabbed a seat outside the brick building, I noticed the red E-Z Up that usually sits on the corner was gone. Odd, I thought.

I quickly fell into a conversation with a man from Tennessee. Soft spoken with a calm demeanor, he was a tunesmith. And a good one at that.

As the day wore on, I walked and walked. And walked some more. Stopping to take a few photos and pop in a shop or two.

I ended the day with a drink. Marveling how three simple ingredients could provide a moment of contentment.

And on the occasion where I find myself succumbing to the idea of wanting “more” in this life, I remind myself there is no need.

I have enough.
